HI Street Kitchen & Tap
First experience: was great, bartender super awesome and nice. Ordered lots of food and drinks. Pineapple cider was excellent. Happy hour deals were great.
Not sure what is going on with the rebranding? Table menu still said trade winds but food menu said hi street.
Second visit: Well that was awkward. Bartender was fairly rude and not pleasant at all. Felt like we were bothering him by ordering a drink because he just wanted to focus on the large group. Tried to give him the benefit of the doubt cus he seemed overwhelmed being bartender/waiter until he talked crap to the cook who came out to look/laugh at my table and walk back to the kitchen. Really ruined the experience so just left. Won't be back.
Went to Common Theory instead. Incredibly nice bartender and plenty of parking.
We went here for lunch yesterday. Our second visit. Love love love this place. I'm vegan and my husband is a meat eater, so we have the best of both worlds here.
For appetizers we shared the kamikaze fries, salt & pepper tots, and vegan lumpia. Yummy!! I had the tofu salt & pepper wings with a side of bbq sauce & Thai iced tea w almond milk. Sooooo tasty. My husband had the regular wings. My cousins had the Filipino fried rice and Conscious burger. We were all so full, but went ahead and ordered a dozen malasadas(since they're now vegan!)with a side of ube and chocolate sauce. Omg. I pretty much died and went to heaven. I could only eat 2 or my stomach would have exploded, but I would have ate more if I wasn't so full! Everyone enjoyed the food!
It's a very spacious location with plenty of room for our double stroller, which is a big plus for us. A few parking spaces in the front and plenty in the back. Service has been great! They're super attentive.
Met the owner, Sylvia, when we came for the first time last week. Saw her again yesterday. She's super friendly and welcomes our toddler and baby.
Overall delicious food for vegans and carnivores! Wonderful service! Super kid friendly! Will try to come weekly!!
First time here, my first impression was 3/5 but Lisa our server earned them an extra star.
I ordered 9 menu items, and the ones I liked most are the spam musubi, boom boom wings, malasadas and Vietnamese coffee.
The kamikaze fries were 2/5, the fries needed to more crispy due to the sauces used on the fries.
The lumpia were 3/5, they were probably frozen and not freshly made. The pork was used throughout the whole roll. Otherwise it was really a 2/5.
The gyoza was 2/5, didn't really do anything flavorful for the sauce or gyoza. They should remove this item and replace it with something else.
The wings needed to be cooked for a few minutes longer, otherwise it would be 5/5. Just pulled a little bit too early.
The flights were good, and the Vietnamese coffee was on point.
I will be coming back, but remember to come with friend to share!
